Bhaskar Basu is the Clinical Lead for the Acute Rehabilitation following major trauma at University Hospital South Manchester. He is a very important part of the team that provides a comprehensive and specialist Neurorehabilitation service for complex patients in Greater Manchester. Bhaskar provides the consultant service for patients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury and other neurodegenerative diseases. He has a special interest in complex spasticity management following stroke or brain injury, including Botulinum Toxin chemodenervation.
He is a regular contributor to professional journals, and has taken an active interest in a number of rehabilitation, Research and educational projects for Manchester University and University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). He is the Contributor of the on-going FORME research project on CFS/ME. He has a wealth of teaching experience and regularly presents at national and international meeting. He has a number of published articles in leading journals. He is the teacher and trainer in BSRM SIGAM Advanced Prosthetic and Amputee Rehabilitation Course at Stanmore.
